About Our Guest
I originally met Sarah several years ago when she was my yoga teacher at what was then the only official Bikram hot yoga studio in all of Michigan. She told me then that she would eventually open a studio in the City of Detroit. Sarah describes how she felt when she took her first class in the kitchen of the couple who later opened the first Bikram yoga studio: at first she wasn’t prepared for the heat, but later realized how good the practice made her feel and she decided to go to training to become a certified teacher herself.

What Our Guest Talked About
Sarah explains what the original “26 + 2” hot series is about (26 postures + 2 breathing exercises) and how it is scientifically designed to enhance your breathing, expand your lung capacity, strengthen your joints, create longer and leaner muscles, and align your body and spine.
When it was time to open her own studio, Sarah received a great of assistance from her brother-in-law, a Detroit native and the owner of several businesses in Detroit. It took over two years, but finally the studio was open for business in an area of Detroit that is also home to other businesses, artists, students, and medical professionals.
